One Super 14 match, and we backed the winners in both of the Heineken Cup semi-finals
Super 14, Chiefs v Sharks, Saturday 8.35am
Only one S14 match for me this week and apart from home advantage I cannot separate these two.
Sharks are third in the table and have a picked a behemoth side, and the Chiefs are fourth and need to win to really keep the semi-final berth theirs. Crikey – this will be Test match intensity and for me that means fire up the old betfair account and trade against the side taking the lead.
One side may go away with it from the start but I douobt it and expect the prices to fluctuate between 1.7 and 2 for one side at least and that means get those trading fingers moving.
I will want a green screen of profit on both by about 60 minutes. Then I may take a view on the stronger side for a punt on the win.
Heineken Cup, Leicester Tigers v Llanelli Scarlets, Saturday 3pm
What a match up this is, with two of the major British clubs fighting it out for a spot in the final. The match is at Walkers Stadium and although Tigers should probably be favourites on paper anyway, this home advantage and rabid Midlands crowd will be a 16th player on the pitch.
They are short mind for a two team semi at 1/2, but for those wishing to pick a winner it must be Tigers.
I am having a small bet on them at 1/2 and also putting in prices higher up to be hit as the game progresses – then in the second half I will cancel any not taken, and review my position then and start trading if the Scarlets are fronting up in the pack.
If not, then it will be whatever bets I have on Tigers and lots of cheering.
Heineken Cup, Northampton Saints v London Wasps, Saturday 3pm
Surely Saints cannot end this season with a visit to the Heineken cup final?
They’ve been dreadful all season and but for a totally inept Biarritz and breakaway try, would not be playing Wasps in this game.
I cannot do anything but back Wasps and I reckon by some margin so I am buying them with a handicap as well.
Main bet is – Wasps -8.5 points at 10/11 BET365
Smaller bet – straight back of Wasps at 4/11.
If the weather is fair I reckon Wasps will score tries, four or more possibly.
