A strong weekend from Fletch in picking rugby winners and top trading in the NFL
Well it all started well on Friday night, as the impressive Sale Sharks easily defeated Worcester Warriors and earned us a nice 8/15 win.
On Saturday the weather was OK and the Tigers duly delivered on our 14 point handicap at 10/11 with a handsome 29-6 win at home. BOOM
Two matches and two scores. Rugby Premiership has been good to us this week but we sought out bets and backed quality against poor.
First up in the NFL was Saints v Panthers and it started well with a flip-flop scoring in the first half leaving the Saints 10-6 up.
Then however it was one way traffic with the Saints coring three TD’s in the third and game over. A reasonable position earned by trading was ruined and I bailed out with a loss. Fortunately I tend to do bigger trading earlier in games so it was not too big – but a bit like the famous fish – this was one that could have been huge but ‘got away’.
Thankfully Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears delivered the dream trading game. I advised a lay of both team at 1.6 and by the end of the third quarter Denver had been below and bounced higher from that level 7 TIMES and the Bears 5 TIMES. KERCHING!!!! TRADING HEAVEN. It continued till the very end as Chicago levelled the match in final seconds with a TD.
That is why we have discipline when we trade. When it works – and it has an awful lot this season as we target certain match-ups – it pays the big payouts.
The third match was the early morning Pats v Eagles. Back points at +50 at 10/11 was the call and boy did these teams deliver. At the end of the third quarter the bet was WON with the score 24-28.
All in all a very good weekend. I will do full review this week of the England Test series in Sri Lanka but recently having watched Kumar Sangakkara bat beautifuly for 192 in the second innings of the second Test at Hobart against Australia I can say now I will be looking at his runs market.
