Weekend Review

Ths Six Nations drew to its climax, the matches were a trading dream – and Fletch took advantage

Six Nations

‘England are too short at 1/2 so I don’t care about the game just lay them at the beginning’. That was a phrase of my preview, and when Ireland went 10-0 up, the England price went above evens, and it was KERCHING time for a whopping profit inside 10 minutes.

Then, as per our trading mantra, some might have layed Ireland as odds-on (I did not as the first trade went so well), and benefitted handsomely as England then came back to parity, then the lead, then a large victory.

Wales and France was a trader from the off. Lay the team scoring first was the advice and Wales went 9-3 up and then France got it back to 9-9. There was our trade and our profit. The rest was irrelevant as we could sit out the match.

As for the Italy v Scotland game, again it was trade the side scoring first, and hope for flip-flops, as this could be close was my call. A last minute 23-20 win for Italy proves I was right, and this match offered so many trading opportunities, that we should all have made a handsome profit.

Overall I think this has been an exceptional weekend of Six Nations Rugby and a great end for us. We had a bad week earlier in the tournament but have worked hard to turn it around and finish with a good profit.

Super 14

Crusaders crushed the Cheetahs by more than 20 for a lovely 5/6 win.
Stormers turned over the Chiefs in New Zealand so there was another 10/11 win.
The only error was the Bulls faltering against the Reds.

However we now have 13 from 16 correct in this year’s Super 14.

I admit my losses and bad calls, so allow me to celebrate my good ones. 13 from 16 is exceptional in such a competitive tournament and many of them have been prices near evens as we have targeted handicap bets. These have not been short-priced favourites!

Cricket, 2nd Test, New Zealand v England

We had our draw back and lay done in the first two days. I said then keep out as the prices were prohibitive. At least we made money again with my favourite market – the draw!

So, all in all an excellent and very profitable weekend – again.
