Surrey played Essex on Sunday, and our bets depended on who batted first
Full marks for Fletch again. Essex batted first and posted a decent score, before Surrey chased. Surrey looked to have it in the bag, but faltered at the final hurdle, losing by 8 runs.
Surrey v Essex, 10.30am Sunday
My fear here is that the weather forecast is very poor for Sunday.
That means an early position is risky, as there is a danger that the game could be reduced to a ten over slog.
However, if it looks like being a game of some length, then a look at the pitch will pay dividends. If it looks a good pitch, back Surrey if they bat first.
They score very fast with Ramprakash providing the class, while Benning clubs it at the other end. Ramprakash is in top nick, having scored a recent ton against Sussex in the Friends Provident.
However if Essex bat first and get a score, look to get on them, as Surrey are nervous chasers.
