A winning tip from Lingfield sees us earn some Xmas spending money

Pezula Bay came home for us in the 1.35 at Lingfield for a nice win as we move into the weekend

Lingfield

1.35 – A few un-raced horses take to the field in this one so a look at the betting is essential to check for any strong market moves that suggest the horse is ready to win. Any money for the Mark Johnston trained Symonette should be respected. That said I like to stick with previous racecourse experience in the main and for that reason I think that this is likely to come down to two from the field.

Head Down is in decent heart at the moment and is being tried over 7f for only the second time in his career. Last time out he was running over a mile, so it will be interesting to see what the drop in trip will do for him. He chased the winner that day and was ridden over 2f out; he then hung left over 1f out and was unfortunately soon beaten from there. The small field may not have suited him and he could run well today, although he may have to be content with the places.

My tip goes to Pezula Bay who ran a very pleasing debut when un-fancied last time out. He was allowed to go off at 16/1 and was slowly away and in the rear rank at the start. He was then cramped for room 2f out and made good headway over 1f out. Once again he was short of room inside the final furlong but he ran on well and took second place close to home. He looks like he has enough to take a race sooner rather than later and this is a good chance today.

Kempton

6.20 – This looks like a good opportunity for Mellow Mixture to build on his decent performance last time out with a win today. He dwelt at the start in his last race but was in touch in midfield. He was ridden to chase the leading trio over 2f out and then ran on in the final furlong to snatch 2nd in the last few strides. He had no chance with the winner, but it was a much improved performance and he now looks to be going in the right direction.

Of the rest Petrovsky makes obvious appeal.
