Kinigi and Kind Heart both stormed to victory as our bets came in at Southwell
Two tips and two winners for a perfect day at Southwell
Southwell
1.10 – This has the makings of a decent little Claimer as quite a few of the entrants have recent placed form. That said I think that this will come down to a shortlist of two from the field.
Smalljohn is in a good bit of form at the moment with a win and a second in his last two starts. Last time out he led from the off and was then nibbled along from the 2f pole. He was headed at the 1f marker and could then only slog away at one pace for second. He deserves plenty of credit for plugging on gamely in this race as he had to scrap for the lead throughout the race. If the exertion hasn’t taken too much out if him he should be a threat here today.
My tip goes to Kinigi who is another in good form at the moment and he looks very competitive indeed at the weights. Last time out he was held up in touch, made good headway from the 2f pole on the outer of the field. He was then driven out to challenge in the final furlong and led just when it counted to take first place by the shortest of margins. If he can put in a similar performance today then he holds a strong chance.
2.10 – This looks to be a good opportunity for Kind Heart to break her duck and chalk up the first victory of her short racing career. Last time out she pressed the leader from the off and was shaken up to lead over 2f out. She was then headed entering the final furlong and had no answer to the move, ultimately going down by three lengths. She still looks like a filly with plenty of potential and she should go well today. Of the rest Alexander Gulch is the obvious danger.
