A winning tip for Stuart Eaton in the 1.20 at Catterick gets us off to a good start at the races
The glory belonged to us on Tuesday as Goodison Glory took down the 1.20 race priced at 9/4
Catterick
1.20 – This looks to be an interesting maiden and one that is likely to come down to two from the field. Lily Jicaro ran a decent enough race on debut over 6f at Redcar. She was in mid-division for much of the race. She then hung left over 2f out, edged left again and stayed on well inside the final furlong to just get turned over by a half length and come in a creditable 2nd. She is still unproven on today’s heavy ground and that could well be her undoing.
My tip goes to Goodison Glory who looked like he needed the run on debut, but nonetheless put up a promising enough run. He was prominent throughout and had to be niggled along from the halfway point. He then weakened inside the final furlong and could get no closer than 4 ½ lengths from the subsequent winner. He looks like he will improve plenty from this run and should put in a strong performance. Of the rest Miss Cracklinrosie looks the biggest danger.
1.50 – This is another encounter in which two horses seem to stand out from the rest of the field and both have recent winning form. Joe Caster is gunning for his hat-trick in this race after two good performances in his previous two starts. Last time out he was held up in the rear rank, made good headway over 1f out and led inside the final furlong. He was then driven out to win by over a length, beating the short-price favourite into 2nd. He is un-tested on the ground today, which is a concern, although he does have form on the soft.
I like the look of the The Kyllachy Kid who ran a fantastic race in his last start on bottomless ground similar to todays. In that race he tracked the leaders, was ridden over 2f out and led over 1f out. He then stayed on strongly to win by a convincing 3 lengths and looks to be a force to contend with at this level.
