A winner in the 2.50 at Kempton as our horse racing profits rise

Stuart Eaton had a good day on Tuesday, with his outside shot Madison Bell coming in first at Southwell before our confident pick of Mutamared rode home in style to finish off our good day at the races

Southwell

1:40 – A great opportunity for the in-form Smalljohn to make it two wins from his last two starts. Last time out he had the race to himself and won nicely by four lengths. He was clear when asked for his effort over 1f out and then ran on well to make all. He was the pick of the weights on the day and is a decent sort at this grade. Very little improvement was required on his recent form to pick up the victory and he enjoyed the run of the race. It looks like he will continue to go well at this level and the small field today is likely to suit, if he is allowed to dictate.

Of the remainder Madison Bell looks best placed to cause an upset.

Kempton

2:50 – Another race that looks like it can fall to an in-form horse, in the shape of Mutamared, who like our previous tip is gunning for his second win in two starts. Last time out he was supported heavily in the betting market and went off as favourite. He took a keen hold and then chased the leaders until he was ridden to lead over 1f out. He then ran on well in the final furlong to just score by a neck, demonstrating he still has a will to win. He is certainly not as good as he used to be but he is a class horse at this level and is one to be feared.

The main competition is likely to come from Angel Voices who has been putting in some decent performances, without pulling up trees, and could well be coming into some sort of form again. That said it would be a real surprise to see Mutamared turned over today, even at the grand old age of 9.
