Tuesday racing

Stuart Eaton picked a winner and a third place from Tuesday’s horse racing from Great Leighs

Success for Stuart here, Evelyn May won the 7.50, while in the earlier race, Ruwain ran out winner with Kangrina coming in third.

Great Leighs

6.20 – This looks like it will come down to three main protagonists.

Alfie Tupper has bits and pieces of form in his last few starts and comes into this one off the back of a lay off, so it will be interesting how fit he is. His last wins have all come over the 1m1f distance at Wolverhampton so this should be more up his street than the 1m4f he tried recently. Last time out he was still 4lb heavier than for his last win and failed to produce anything after looking like he was going to get involved in the finish. He could well be one for the minor places.

Ruwain may just be coming into form at the moment and his current jockey partnership may be able to wring the best out of him. In his last start he chased the leaders for most of the contest, was then pushed along and finished in third at one pace. Once again it’s tough to see him as the winner but he could make the winner work hard.

My tip goes to Kangrina, who still has improvement to show. After missing a whole year of racing she really started to get into her stride in her last start and if she was ridden closer to the pace may have got home in first place. She has a good chance today as this is not the strongest field you have ever seen.

7.50 – This looks like a good opportunity for the in form Evelyn May to break her duck after a decent run of placed form so far. Bred for speed and a bargain basement buy she was quite impressive on debut having to switch when the winner came across her and then staying upsides for the remainder of the race, just missing out by a short head. She followed that up with a decent third after being stepped up in trip to 6f, now back down to 5f and in this company she looks like she will take all the beating.

Of the rest Kitty Allen makes obvious appeal.
