Stuart Eaton runs the rule on Tuesday’s racing action from Great Leighs and Ripon
Stuart shows us the light once more with a steady tip on Rose Street coming through in the Tuesday meet at Ripon.
Great Leighs
3.00 – This has the makings of a cracking race with three horses standing out from the field. Leadenhall Lass is related to winners over further than the 5f she won at on debut. She pinged the gates in that race and was allowed to make all to take the spoils. She will get another furlong before long but 5f seems to be her trip for the short term and she looks to have a future.
Fazbee is a slightly tough one to call as her only win has been in Maiden company yet she has raced (albeit not competitively) at Group 3 standard. Her Maiden win was slightly facile as she didn’t have to run anywhere near her best to take the race. She tracked the leaders that day and was shaken up to lead over a furlong out; she then held her head slightly high and took the race by a length at a very short price. This was then followed up with a slightly disappointing run at Group three level in which she simply didn’t turn up and ended up finishing next to last.
I’m going to take a punt on Serious Attitude who had obviously been working well on the Newmarket gallops as she was backed at all levels to succeed in her debut. She was fairly slowly away and her jockey was content to allow her to bowl along in the rear, when he gave the filly her head she drew easily upsides the competition before lengthening away impressively to score by 5 lengths. It difficult to say what she beat but the manner of her victory makes you think she could mix it at a better level of company.
Ripon
3.15
– This looks like a good opportunity for the lightly raced Rose Street to chalk up another win. She has so far not been out of the places in three starts, including one win and she looks like she could have the credentials to succeed again here today. Last time out she could have been expected to have needed the run after a longish lay off. She moved well turning into the straight and looked like taking the race until her effort flattened out. She is sure to come on for the race and looks like one to be on the right side of. Of the rest Granston and Kingsdale Orion make most appeal.
