A win at Southwell sees our bankroll rise just before the weekend

More Time Tim came home for us in the 2:20 at Southwell for a nice win just before the weekend

Southwell

2:20 – Just a small field takes to post in this maiden stakes over 1m and two horses catch the eye. Lady Longcroft has had a decent start to racing with two 2nd places in her only two starts. In her last race she tracked the leaders and pulled hard, she went 2nd 3f out and led when ridden 2f out. Following this she edged left and was headed inside the final furlong but stayed on nicely and was beaten by less than a length. She was well clear of the rest of the field and after being a little keen early on was just run out of it in the straight. If she keeps progressing she should find a small race sooner rather than later.

My tip goes to More Time Tim who is still a maiden after 9 starts but has performed well for his new connections. In his last start he chased the leaders until he led over 3f out, he was then ridden over a furlong out and headed inside the final furlong, ultimately being beaten by ¾’s of a length. He was well backed beforehand and it looked as if the race was within his grasp but he was just worn down before the line.

3:20 – This has the looks of a decent competitive handicap with six of the nine runners having placed form in their last starts. That said it could be a good opportunity for Take Me There to continue his good form and chalk up another win. Last time out he tracked the winner and was ridden along 3f out, he was then driven out at the 2f pole and stayed on under pressure entering the final furlong. He was well clear of the rest of the field but was beaten into 2nd by ½ a length. He gives the impression that he can improve again and will benefit from today’s distance.

Of the rest Ibrox looks to be a danger.
