A brilliant day at Wolverhampton sees us back two winners

Two tips and two winners for a great day of racing at Wolverhampton. Harry Up and Desert Bump were our tips and they came home for us

Wolverhampton

2:30 – An average claimer over the minimum distance and a few of the entrants have pretty good recent form. That said I think that this is likely to come down to two from the field.

Godfrey Street is in fantastic form of late with two wins coming from his past two starts. Last time out he chased the leaders and led over 1f out and held on well in the final 100 yards to score by half a length. It was a good performance considering he was not well supported in the marketplace and beat the well-fancied favourite into 2nd place. The switch from blinkers to cheek pieces had the desired effect and it would not be a surprise to see him go well today.

My tip goes to Harry Up who has been racing with credit at a few levels above this. In his last start he was close up early on in the race and was ridden along 2f out, he then gradually weakened and could do no better than 4th. He has never shown his best form at Southwell however and back on his favoured surface today he should run a big race.

3:00 – Another race that looks like it might settle down to two from the field.

Air Maze is a well-fancied debutant from the Sir Mark Prescott stable and any market support for her should be noted and respected.

I like to go for racecourse experience however and for that reason I feel that this one can go to Desert Bump, ridden by Jamie Spencer. In her last start she was in mid-division, switched left and made good headway when squeezed through a gap over 1f out. She then kept on to take 2nd inside the final furlong but could get no closer than 2 ½ lengths from the strongly backed favourite. She looks to be going in the right direction and if running to form today should go well.
