12.30 – This could be a good opportunity for the progressive Bold Rose to get off the mark with a win here today after two recent 2nds. Her runs on the AW so far have been pretty good and she has only been out of the places on one occasion. Last time out she was towards the rear rank at the start and was soon pushed along. She made good headway at the halfway mark and went into the lead over 1f out. She was then driven and headed inside the final furlong and could only plug on at one pace. She was weighted to run well and was by no means disgraced in defeat, if she can keep this level of form up she is sure to find a race sooner rather than later.
Of the rest Imaginary Diva and Chimbonda make the most appeal.
1.00 – This has the makings of a decent maiden with a few runners putting up decent figures at this level recently. That said I think that it may come down to two from the field. Markadam put up a good performance last time out when tried over a mile for the first time. He dwelt and was towards the rear rank at the start, he then ran a little green early on and had to be pushed along. He made good headway 3f out, was ridden over 2f out and stayed on nicely to chase the winner inside the final furlong. If he can build on that performance today he should be there or thereabouts.
My tip goes to Blaise Tower who is another that is improving with each run. In his last start he was in the front rank from the beginning, he was then ridden and kept on in the final furlong to be beaten by 1 ¾ lengths. It was an encouraging effort as he is bred to come into his own over the middle distances next year, with normal improvement however he should be winning soon.
