Super 14 Rugby Betting

A perfect weekend for us in the Super 14 with both our picks winning

A tremendous weekend for us in the Super 14 rugby with our bets on the Waratahs and Crusaders both coming in. Both games were close but Fletch got it spot-on as our bank account soared a little higher in the last few days.

Friday

Lions vs Waratahs, Sky Sports 6.10pm

The Waratahs are a composed and organised outfit and won comfortably last week against the Sharks and very comfortably the week before against the Cheetahs. The Lions are a similar side and now, having avoided being the bottom club in the league have little to play for. The Waratahs in contrast are semi-final hopefuls.

Lions are without skipper Grobbelar and Jaque Fourie, their impressive centre. This weakens them considerably.

Waratahs have all men on deck and despite it being the notoriously difficult last match on tour, they have one shot at keeping their season alive. They need other results to go in their favour but they must know they have 80 minutes for a win and a bonus point. I expect them to deliver.

The price is 8/15 and I am having half stake on that and half stake on the handicap -5 at 10/11.

Saturday

Blues vs Crusaders, Sky Sports 8.35am

For those that are up early and fancy some Kiwi rugby then this could be a treat. The Crusaders have fought their way into contention with McDonald kicking superbly and some tries being completed. Blues have been mercurial, sometimes exhilirating and sometimes infuriating. That is why they are ninth.

They have pride to play for while Crusaders should be very focused.

This is my least bet of the weekend but I fancy Crusaders’ determination and control to win this. 4/7 is a poor price though so I will watch with a small bet on and hope for a bigger price in-running for the rest of my stake. I will then happily trade if the opportunity arises.
