Six Nations Weekend Tips

It was an epic weekend in the Six Nations as Ireland won and England thrashed France

A great weekend of Six Nations sporting action but only an average one for us on the betting market. Our straight back of Ireland came in as they roll towards a Grand Slam but our handicap bet on Wales sunk as Italy put on a great display.

Depending on your trading strategy most of you won’t have invested much in the England vs France game and could instead sit back and watch a great performance by the English side as they won 34-10.

There are just two rounds of matches to go in the 2009 Six Nations and this weekend we have one write off, one teaser and one where the bookies cannot separate them.

Italy vs Wales, Saturday 3pm

There’s no reasonable price here on the win so we have to search the fringe markets or the handicap. Wales with a handicap of 16 points is a good bet as they will stretch Italy. But for it to succeed they need tries so maybe we should just back tries. The problem is they are similar bets and the personal tryscorers for Wales have skinny odds. So the handicap it is.

Scotland vs Ireland, Saturday 5pm

Let’s stick to the basics here and just back the visitors. 4/11 is the best price and just enough for me to have a punt. Scotland are improving and could be awkward so just a straight win here.

England vs France, Sunday 3pm

Now this is the game where nobody knows. England are 10/11, France 11/10. France have been impressive in the last round of matches but still have many issues whereas England are one dimensional but improving.

Here I am just going to trade by laying whichever side hits 1.6 first and then hope to back them again for a win-win anywhere past 1.85.
