Praz Bansi talks to PokerPlayer.co.uk about the problems playing against Daniel Negreanu on the WSOPE final table
In the second part of our exclusive video series with Praz Bansi talking about his WSOPE final table, the Hit Squad star reveals the difficulties of playing with superstar Daniel Negreanu. Though he had ploughed through the field by making great reads it seems as though Negreanu was the one player he couldn’t quite work out, ‘I’ll be honest, I found it really difficult to play against him. A lot of people say he just calls a lot and is really easy to read but I never found that…with him a lot of the time I didn’t know what I should be doing.’
Watch the video clip above for more candid, honest thoughts from PokerPlayer’s UK Player Of The Year including a big hand where Negreanu pushed him off the best hand and the experience of playing with one of 2009’s hottest players, Jason Mercier.
Despite struggling to get a grasp on Negreanu’s game Bansi came close to winning the event – and his second WSOP bracelet – only to be eliminated in 3rd place, the major damage coming in a hand against eventual champ Barry Shulman when Praz held K-K and couldn’t fade Shulman’s nut flush draw.
