No sticky wicket for Fletch

Iain Fletcher reviews his cricket tips during England's winter tour of Pakistan

Our trading in-running was once more hugely profitable

Terrible wasn’t it – England losing the series in Pakistan? Well, not exactly. Not for us anyway. Let’s review our trades from the magazine and throughout the series via the website.

Third Test was one to lay England from the start and I suggested to keep laying them. If you were still holding on to Pakistan 1-0 series win at 7/1 you could have layed the draw in the final Test as low as 1.1. Myself I suggested laying it off at about 2.2 after the second Test draw in Faisalabad.

Second Test was one to always keep the draw onside as so many matches finishes draws at Faisalabad. Bingo – it was drawn. First Test we put a point on Pakistan at abewtween 4 and 4.5. A nice winner.

Our trading in-running was once more hugely profitable.

Now what about long-term trades?

We had a mixture of spread positions. Selling Geraint Jones and Ian Bell runs made us a small profit on Jones and lost about 70 on Bell. We also bought Younis Khan, Mohammad Yousuf and Inzi-ul-Haq for Pakistan as a three or I suggested just pick one.

Khan missed the last Test and cost about 100 runs. Yousuf made 223 in the last and made about 75 runs and Inzi scored over 400 for 170 runs profit.

So overall the spreads should have won a nice profit – not exceptional but OK.

Now the bowlers. I suggested laying Harmison for 2 points as top series wicket taker. Flintoff got one more for England and Shoaib (Akhtar) a few more for Pakistan. Good win. I also layed him in each Test for the first two – the first Test was a win – the second Test had four bowlers with five wickets – Harmison being one.

The session bets were skewed by the change in playing hours to having an extra long morning session and a small late session.

Overall we did it again – made money in both short and long term trades.
