NFL Thursday

Iain Fletcher trades the opening game of the NFL season between the Saints and the Colts for profit

Good old Indy Colts carried on from last season and ensured parity at half-time allowing our early lay at 1.43 to double in price.

New Orleans @ Indianapolis Colts, Thursday

So the greatest show on turf starts again with the Superbowl Champion Colts welcoming the Saints.

This match comes down to two things becasue the Saints are excellent on the road.

Can the Colts defend the run? If not Deuce McAllister and Reggie Bush will control the game.

Can the Saints defend the pass? If not Peyton Manning will kill them with his battalion of receivers.

Last year I did well opposing the Colts in matches early when their price was short, and then trading it back when they started badly – which they did far too often.

So tonight I am a layer of them when Saints get the ball early as I think their price of 4/11 is way short. Indeed, I am surprised they are such favourites, but that is generally the way with the champions.

Trade against them. Hopefully this should get us a chance of a profit on both sides.

Individuals I am keen to watch are the two RB’s for Saints. Also can they attack Manning’s backside? The Saints must be looking for sacks, as a rookie has the job of protecting his blind spot.

I also reckon a lot points will be scored in this match, so I will be watching the spreads, but at 51-54 they are already priced in.

A quite first quarter would suit, and then I will look at the lesser price. If not I will leave alone and just trade.
