Two matches at the weekend, the Steelers won us money, but a Giants comeback torpedoed our other bet
50% for Fletch on the weekend’s NFL, the first game went to plan with the Steelers winning big, but a Giants 4th Quarter comeback did for our second bet.
San Francisco 49ers @ Pittsburgh Steelers, Sunday 6pm
The ‘Niners have started well. They’ve won both of their two outings so far, against the Rams and Arizona, and have surprised a few people.
However, they really will be up against it this weekend, as they make the long journey East to play Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh have QB Ben Roethlisberger firing and WR Hines Ward playing well. It all stacks up for the Steelers here, a slick attack with potent weapons that scores points for fun and home field advantage.
There is not enough value in the 1.25 offered for the straight win, so I will be backling Pittsburgh with a 9.5pt handicap at above evens.
New York Giants @ Washington Redskins, Sunday 9.15pm
Pretty simple one this, one team is 2-0 and the other is 0-2.
We have to back the Redskins, who have Jason Campbell throwing well and Clinton Portis running well.
Campbell has been hitting receviers Moss and Randle El with ease, which means defenses double up those two, allowing the room for Portis to run. He averages 4.9 yards per carry already this season.
It looks like the Redskins have no injury worries, and a straight bet at 1.52 is the way to go.
Also have a look at the spread on Portis’ total rushing yards once the prices have been announced.
