Our NFL preview finishes off with the AFC West where the Chargers look the team to beat
AFC CONFERENCE WEST
Pre-season Standings
San Diego Chargers 3 – 1
Denver Broncos 2 – 2
Kansas City Chiefs 2 – 2
Oakland Raiders 1 – 3
Quite frankly a poor division. Take out the Chargers and what do you have?
Denver Broncos – Old and slow. Poor defense and little offense. They will win games at Mile High but they are not a good outfit.
Oakland Raiders – Just a shambles for the last 4 years. Their record in that time: 15-49. Expect something equally dreary this time round.
Kansas City Chiefs – They aim for power but never quite get it right. Offensive line has four new starters. Wow that could be a nightmare.
San Diego Chargers – Thank God for San Diego or this division would be an embarassment to the NFL Commission. Ladainian Tomlinson (LT) was the best running back for the second season running and will feature again with unbelievable balance and pace. They have wide receivers – Chris Chambers and Vincent Jackson, and a superb Tight end in Antonio Gates so it is up to QB Rivers to perform. If not look for another job mate because you have the weapons and an easy Division. The only question mark is Shawne Merriman in defense who has a bad leg. They need his sacks and threat – especially come the big teams at play off time.
