One out of two isn’t bad… We got the England game spot on, as they crashed 1-0; and nearly got the four goals we needed in the second one, As the Republic of Ireland scraped a 2-1 win.

England are favourites against Spain, but a closer look suggests the visitors are worth a small back. Terry will not captain England (although he is fit), they are also without their best World Cup player Hargreaves, and no recognised left back. And don’t forget Spain comprehensively outplayed England when the teams last met.

The Republic of Ireland are coming off a good draw with the Czech Repubic and beat San Marino 5-0 in November. Although away from home and without a couple of strikers, they should have enough with Premiership stars Duff and Keane up top to notch another big win against the part-timers.
