Our strong lay of Arsenal brings us profit even though Van Persie equalised late
A wondergoal from Robin Van Persie spared Arsenal as they snatched a draw in the last minute. It didn’t matter to use though as our lay of the Gunners at a good price saw our bankroll creep up some more
Six more Premier League matches on Wednesday following Tuesday’s action and the game of the night is at Goodison where Everton take on Arsenal. Both sides are in decent form, but the Toffees look good for at least a share of the spoils and I’m more than willing to lay the Gunners at around the 2.50 mark.
Arsenal were written off by nearly everybody following a terrible run before Christmas but they are unbeaten in eight matches since losing to Porto in the Champions League and appear to have got their season back on track. That said, their recent fixtures have been fairly kind and David Moyes’ men are sure to provide them with their toughest test for some time.
Arsene Wenger’s men failed to polish off Cardiff at the first time of asking on Sunday in the FA Cup and that performance was typical of much of their campaign to date. They are clearly missing both a playmaker and a goal scorer, Robin van Persie has been in excellent form but cannot do it all on his own, and Wenger must be desperate to see Andrei Arshavin pull on a red and white shirt.
While Eduardo nears a a comeback to full fitness the form of Emmanuel Adebayor must be of huge concern to all Gunners fans and the increasing feeling is that he’ll be on his way in the summer. Injuries to the likes of Rosicky and Walcott haven’t helped but the Londoners face a real fight for fourth place and certainly won’t have it all of their own way on Merseyside.
The job that David Moyes has done at Everton should never be underestimated and he has the club very much on the up. Twice they have held bitter rivals Liverpool to a 1-1 draw at Anfield in the past 10 days and while they were criticised by Rafa Benitez for their defensive approach, I say hats off to them. Everton have been crippled by injuries to their attacking players of late and have simply adapted their style to cope with what they have.
While Mikel Arteta is a doubt for Wednesday’s clash, Moyes can welcome back Maroaune Fellaini from suspension and that is a big plus. The hosts will benefit enormously from his physical presence against a lightweight looking Arsenal midfield and he could also provide a real goal threat. In fact, Fellaini looks overpriced at 15.0 to open the scoring and should be backed each way to do so with Bet 365.
Arsenal have had terrible trouble defending set pieces this season and the Belgian is terrific in the air. In addition, the generous terms offered by Bet 365 means we’ll collect on the place part of the wager should he find the net at any time.
While the away side are unbeaten in eight so are Everton and to have them and the draw on side at a little worse than 4/6 looks excellent value. Arsenal have huffed and puffed to get the better of Hull, Bolton and Portsmouth in recent weeks but this will be a different test altogether and they’ll do very well to leave with all three points.
