Christmas betting review

How did we get on with our punts over the Christmas holidays?

Christmas was a boozy time in the Fletch household but also half-decent on the punting.

The cricket has been more than interesting as South Africa have destroyed Australia and any Englishman must enjoy that. And despite me suggesting that we back back Aussie in each Test at just above evens I have actually made money on the matches.

How? Well in both the first and second Tests – both won by South Africa – Aussie traded as low as 1.21 and 1.16.

Now we have done this long enough for you not to need your hands held so no bleating at backing Aussie and losing. From 2.1 to anywhere around 1.2 is a surefire trade. If not, maybe you should reconsider strategy.

The rugby on last Sunday was amazing as I backed Leicester and watched a nailbiter as they sneaked home against a Bath team that must still be stunned they didn’t close the game out. Oh well, good for me and you as we won the bet.

Now what can we do as the New Year gets under way to keep the good work of 2008 going?

We have the NFL coming nicely to a boil and I will preview every match on in from now so look out for them later in the week. More rugby, both national and Heineken Cup in January and soon England leave for the West Indies so we have a full preview and Test series to profit from in the Carribbean.
