Irish bookies Paddy Power have ALREADY paid out on Chelsea for the title this season, despite the season being just 8 games old.
Paddy Power announced that it would be paying out on all single bets placed on the Blues for the 2005/06 Premiership title – and one lucky punter from London is reportedly set for a very early payout of £15,000!
Of course, it’s great PR for the bookie concerned, but we’ve seen these tactics backfire in the past, with both Fred Done and Paddy Power having to pay out twice in previous seasons after declaring an early payout.
With the Premiership coming under fire for being predictable and boring, Chelsea currently sit top of the league – and, after eight games played, they are already 10 points clear of Manchester United, 11 points clear of Arsenal and a whopping 17 points clear of European Champions Liverpool. Their dominance was confirmed when they thrashed Liverpool 4-1 at Anfield in front of the Sky TV cameras.
Can anyone catch Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea? Paddy Power clearly don’t think so…
