Barny Boatman is in a great position to win his second bracelet later today in the $1,500 Extended Play
1. $50k Poker Players Championship: Mosseri takes control
Scott Seiver’s run came to an end on Day 3 of the Poker Players Championship. After leading the way after Days 1 & 2, Seiver lost his stack and won’t be part of the 19-strong group coming back for Day 4.
Abe Mosseri has taken Seiver’s spot at the top. Mosseri is looking to make back-to-back PPC final tables after finishing in fourth last year for a score of $402,696. He was also the chip leader after Day 3 then as well. Right behind him is 2013 PPC winner Matthew Ashton, with 2010 Main Event runner-up John Racener in third. Racener already has four cashes at this year’s WSOP, including fourth in the $3k H.O.R.S.E.
Jason Mercier is still in in but short-stacked in 15th position. Jean-Robert Bellande is in 13th and he’ll be hoping that’s not unlucky when they return at 2pm today and play down to the final table of six.

2. Boatman gets Extended Play
The final table of the $1,500 Extended Play got underway just after midnight, with the UK’s Barny Boatman fourth in chips. When play paused for the night Boatman had improved to second, but he had to get very lucky. With nine players still remaining Artem Metalidi opened in early position with Queens, Boatman flatted with Tens and Ross Gottileb shoved with Threes. Metalidi re-shoved and Boatman called with only a slightly bigger stack. It shows that Boatman is more than happy to gamble for his second bracelet and the poker gods were smiling on him with a Ten on the flop. He eliminated both players.
Since then he has made great use of his chips, ramping up the aggression and moving into second place behind the dominant chip leader Adrian Apmann, with five left.
Play resumes later today at 1pm, with the live stream kicking in with hole cards and commentary with a 30-minute delay. You can expect a big and rowdy UK rail to turn up once the word spreads through Vegas. You can join in and shoebomb from the safety of your own home by watching the action here.

3. Koon heads the $1,500 NLHE
Jason Koon has over $3.5m in live tourney winnings but he’s still looking for his first WSOP bracelet. He’s got a great chance in Event #45 as he’s currently chip leader with just 24 remaining. Barry Hutter, who has already won a bracelet this year in the $1,500 Shootout is in second.
Craig McCorkell was eliminated in 27th towards the end of the day, but ex-PokerPlayer columnist Dara O’Kearney is still in – his 329,000 stack is good for 16th spot. Play resumes at 1pm and they’ll be hoping to play all the way to the bracelet. If O’Kearney makes the final table, tonight could be an epic night for the UK rail.
