A whole host of big names have a chance with just 185 left in the WSOP Main Event
6,494 players began and after Day 5 of the WSOP Main Event there are now only 185 remaining in the running for the $8,500,000 first prize. It could yet be a star-studded November Nine as plenty of big names are left in the pack. They include Phil Ivey, David Benyamine, Tom Schneider, former chipleader Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier, Antonio Esfandiari and past WSOP champions Joe Hachem and Peter Eastgate.
The Brits are also well-represented, with Hit Squad star James Akenhead in particular near the top of the leaderboard with 2.6m. Black Belt Poker brown belt Adam Latimer, Jeff Duvall, InsidePoker insider Karl Mahrenholz and ex-Eastender Michael Greco are also still flying the flag for the UK.
Now that the money bubble has burst, the next few days will be some of the most exciting in the poker year. Will a poker superstar such as Ivey make the November Nine final table? Can a UK player go all the way? Could Peter Eastgate achieve the impossible and defend his world championship? All of these questions and more will be answered over the coming week so stick with PokerPlayer.co.uk for all the latest news on poker’s biggest tournament.
