PokerStars tournaments series are always phenomenally successful, with the ‘Big Three’ of WCOOP, SCOOP and TCOOP consistently smashing their multi-million dollar prizepool guarantees.
To whet our appetites for the next major festival – the 2014 Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) in May – Stars are running the second ever WCOOP Challenge Series. A spin-off from established giant WCOOP, the Challenge Series will run over the weekend of March 28-30, consist of nine tournaments and have a $9m total guaranteed prizepool.
Sunday March 30 looks like the best day to play, with an exciting $2,100 Main Event and a special edition of the $215 Sunday Million – both tournaments will offer guaranteed prizepools of $2m that are likely to end up much higher once all players are registered. In addition to winning a boatload of money, each winner in the WCOOP Challenge Series will receive a buy-in into the 2014 WCOOP Main Event (usually worth $5,200) and a customised money clip to hold that newly acquired boatload.
