PokerStars has just announced that as of next year it will be sponsoring the poker room at London’s iconic Hippodrome Casino. Britain’s largest casino reopened earlier this year after undergoing an extensive refurbishment and looks better than ever. Until now PokerStars has only ever had one offical poker room on the island of Macau, but the new partnership shows how big the UK poker scene has become.
Perfectly located in the heart of London, right next to Leicester Square, the PokerStars Poker Room which, will be open 24/7 will host a wide range of cash games and tournaments but the big news will be the exciting PokerStars sponsored live events taking place throughout the year at what is sure to be one of the UK’s hottest Poker venues.
As well as the new poker room, PokerStars has also bought equity in the Hippodrome Casino as part of the deal and ‘Stars has confirmed that it will provide the Hippodrome with the software for an online poker room in the future.
The first major PokerStars-sponsored events to take place at the Hippodrome are expected to start in early 2013 and players will be able to qualify online through PokerStars usual satellites path.
