I was there when Jamie Gold won the WSOP Main Event in Vegas and I was in Melbourne to see Lee Nelson win the Aussie Millions. I’ve seen EPT titles handed out in the Caribbean and Monte Carlo, and yes, I appreciate how lucky I’ve been.
The good news is that it’s got a bit easier to follow the action in recent years. The fantastic EPT Live stream means you can watch all of their Main Events play out in the comfort of your own home, with hole cards and analysis. The World Series has upped its own game over the past couple of years, with streams of all the big final tables, although you need ESPN to watch the Main Event.
Jason Somerville brought the online game to the rail with his Twitch streams and I was hooked again, through last year’s WCOOP and up to the $102k Super High Roller that’s made all the headlines this year. It provided a fascinating insight into how the top pros play – and how they deal with busting in a tournament where the buy-in is bigger than most people’s salary.
