One of the biggest partnerships in the history of online gaming has just been announced. The deal which will see Zynga, the world’s leading provider of social game services, and bwin.party, the leading international real money gaming operator, joining forces to offer real money online poker and other casino games here in the UK.
“Bringing together Zynga’s expertise in social gaming with the top international real money gaming operator is the best way to create the highest quality gaming experiences for our players in the UK,” said Barry Cottle, Executive Vice President, Corporate and Business Development, Zynga.
The move comes at a crucial time, especially for Bwin.party, which is coming of the back of one of its toughest years. Player traffic is down a third and the PokerStars takeover of Full Tilt and its assists, cost the company’s shareholders, who owned a significant stake in Full Tilt a lot of money.
But all the signs for the future look positive and it is important to remember that despite it’s losses, Bwin.party remains the second largest online poker company in terms of player traffic and the addition of Zynga’s hundreds of millions of active players, many who play here in the UK, will certainly help.
Whichever way you look at it with the launch of this new partnership due to be rolled out early next year and Full Tilt making its comeback next month, these are very exciting times for online poker.
