WSOP: Main Event Update

It's down to the final 45, as the WSOP's Big One gets down to the nitty-gritty

Californian Jamie Gold is living up to his name as the WSOP Main Event moves into Day Six. The Malibu resident is currently chip leader with over $7million worth of chips, more than $1million more than his nearest rival, Swede Erik Friberg ($5.9million chips) as the WSOP goes down to the final 45 players.

Sadly, there is no British representation in the final 45, with the highest-placed Brit, Richard Gryko, placing 50th. The Londoner collected a tidy $164,932 for his trouble.

Most of the big names have already fallen by the wayside, but one well-known face, Humberto Brenes, still remains. The Costa Rican is short-stacked, with just $565,000 worth of chips, and will need to make some well-timed moves to pull clear of trouble and secure a top 20 finish.
