WSOP champ auctions off bracelet

Peter Eastgate puts 2008 Main Event gold up for sale

Sift through the mountains of tat available on eBay and you’re bound to bag a bargain or two, but those of you with $50,000 burning a hole in your sky rocket can now get your hands on the most coveted piece of jewellery in poker.

This week, Peter Eastgate, the 2008 World Series of Poker Champion, began auctioning off his Main Event bracelet with the intention of passing all proceeds to leading charity Unicef.

Buyers have until November 25 to get their hands on the 18-carat white gold bracelet, peppered with more than 290 diamonds across its surface, which was handed to Eastgate after becoming the youngest player to win poker’s premier showpiece, aged just 22.

Although now retired, Eastgate told a Danish magazine that he is still “extremely proud” of his title, “but the bracelet itself, I am never wearing…..a lot more people will hopefully be able to benefit from the item”.

The highest bidder at the moment appears to be Tony G who says he is leading the bidding at $17,500. You can check out the eBay listing here: Eastgate Bracelet
