Irish bookie Paddy Power announces a host of new markets for 2007 World Series of Poker betting
Paddy Power has announced 19 new betting markets on the 2007 World Series of Poker. A dozen Main Event markets are now available for the Main Event in addition to “outright betting”, “to make final table” and “to make the money” for the H.O.R.S.E. and $10k Omaha tournaments.
Paddy Power, head of communications for the bookmakers said, “The WSOP is the biggest poker extravaganza on the planet and we’re giving punters our widest selection ever. For the Main Event we have markets on Top European, Top British, Top Scandinavian, Top German and Top Irish. You can guess who I’ll be cheering on!”
Odds are available on more than 500 players to make the final table. Phil Hellmuth, on the back of a record breaking 11th WSOP bracelet is available at 33-1. Hollywood stars Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are both quoted at 250-1 while last year’s champion Jamie Gold is 100-1 to reach the final table for the second year in a row.

The H.O.R.S.E. event is considered by many to be the most prestigious event in the WSOP as it requires mastery of five different disciplines of poker. The $50,000 buy-in attracts all the top professionals and Phil Ivey is the 20-1 favourite.

Irishman Andy Black was victorious in the Omaha event at the 2007 Irish Open and will be looking to win his first bracelet in the $10,000 Omaha event. He is 50-1 to win the event.
