That man Roland de Wolfe is a strong favourite for the upcoming PartyPoker World Open set for London at the end of April

UK star player Roland de Wolfe is running red hot at the moment, coming second in the recent Irish Open, and holding the chip lead in the WPT World Championship being played at the Bellagio this week.

Next stop is the PartyPoker World Open at the Three Mills Studios, London on 27 April and odds are available at www.PartyBets.com. Roland De Wolfe is the 20/1 favourite to win the title and is certainly the one to watch after his recent impressive displays on the world circuit.

A PartyBets.com spokesman said: “The odds suggest we are afraid of the ‘Big Bad De Wolfe.’ We wouldn’t want to take a walk through the woods with Roland, but, then again he’s more likely to challenge us to a marathon card session than eat us alive.”

“Other big runners include Juha Helppi, Liz Lieu, Ian Frazer, Vicky Coren, the Hendon Mob, the Devilfish (another we wouldn’t take a walk in the woods with) and Arshad Hussain, who has recently confirmed his participation.”

The tournament features the strongest field in its history and features 72 players with a $7,000 buy-in and a total prize pool in excess of $500,000. The expected payout for the winner is $200,000. The event is produced by Matchroom Sport and will be broadcast on Five in the UK later this year and distributed worldwide.

The tournament starts on the 27 April with a celebrity table, with the winner of that heat joining the pros. The semi-finals start on 3 May with the final on the evening of 4 May.
