TV Channel embraces SKY's new gaming and dating section
Pokerzone is moving up the UK TV SKY listings from channel 226 to channel 843, and to celebrate the move the TV channel is holding a competition offering one lucky winner the chance to be a pokerzone exclusive reporter in Las Vegas during the World Series of Poker 2006.
You have plenty of time to reset your favourites with the move scheduled for 28th February. As of that date the channel relocates to the new Gaming and Dating section of the SKY EPG.
SKY has chosen to create this new programming genre in response to the growing popularity of niche entertainment channels. You may say there is not a obvious connection between gambling and romance, but the competition provides the opportunity to combine the two.
Entrants must come up with a quirky poker related lonely hearts column advert. The funniest and most unique will be short listed and the winner picked on a dedicated Episode of Poker Night Live at 10pm on Tuesday the 28th of February, SKY channel 843.
Pokerzone are experiencing growing popularity in response to their latest award, TV Programme of the Year at the 2006 UK Gambling Awards, for their flagship show Poker Night Live.
Managing Director of Pokerzone, Jim Sibcy says “Perhaps SKY thought it was about time all those lonely poker players had a little more love in their lives. On a serious note, it will be a great advantage for Pokerzone to be near its competitors. We look forward to an influx of new viewers to our award winning product.”
Creative Director, Sam Orams continued ” If a dating viewer were to accidentally stumble across Poker Night Live, I imagine a ‘big-raise, post-flop’ could sound quite impressive. Joking apart, if you ever need to spot me at a poker tournament, I’ll be the one holding a red carnation.”
