The UK’s biggest-selling poker magazine debuts on The Poker Channel
The Poker Channel, Europe’s largest
dedicated gaming TV network, has teamed up with PokerPlayer to produce a
30-minute magazine television programme called The PokerPlayer Show. The show will be
hosted each month by Poker Channel presenter Anna Fowler alongside an
elite poker personality. Episode 1 features Neil Channing in the studio
answering questions on strategy and talking about the UK poker scene.
The opening show also features interviews with Norwegian pro Annette
Obrestad (cover star of PokerPlayer’s October issue) and recent WPT
London winner and UK pro Jake Cody.
Angus Gairdner,
Executive Producer of The PokerPlayer Show, said, “With the eyes of the
poker world firmly fixed on London this autumn, what better way to kick
off this exciting new series than by taking our cameras along to such
prestigious events as the first ever WPT London, the English Poker Open and the now well-established WSOP Europe. We’re delighted to have teamed
up with PokerPlayer to bring this unique new programme to the poker
fans.”
Matthew Balch, Associate Publisher for the
magazine, commented, “PokerPlayer attracts the world’s biggest names to
its cover each issue and we thought the idea of a magazine show for TV
could help us bring our content to life. We are continually
looking at ways to build the brand and hopefully a venture like this can
achieve that both in the UK and overseas.”
