The Aria Casino in Las Vegas opens The Ivey Room, an exclusive high stakes cash game room
The newest casino in Las Vegas, the Aria inside the CityCenter resort, opened a new and exclusive high stakes cash game room this weekend named after Phil Ivey. The Ivey Room is a luxurious high stakes haven that has already seen cash game action from the likes of Ivey, Doyle Brunson, Jennifer Harman and David Benyamine.
For the past decade much of the high stakes action has been based in the Bellagio’s famous Bobby’s Room however that may be set to change with the opening of Ivey’s Room, which is sure to attract some huge games over the WSOP season.
To celebrate the opening there was a star-studded $1m freeroll at the weekend featuring a $100,000 bounty on host Phil Ivey’s head, $250k for the winner and numerous other celebrity bounties including Phil Laak, Erica Schoenberg and David Williams. The winner also got the chance to play Ivey heads-up for an additional $250k – not surprisingly the man many consider to be the world’s best came through inside his own room.
