David Marley has won the Newcastle leg of the Sky Poker Tour, taking home £4,000 and eclipsing his previous best result of 16th in the tour’s grand final last year. Marley’s key hand happened as they got down to four-handed on the final table.
He called John Pickering’s all-in pre-flop with pocket nines only to run into pocket Jacks. Incredibly the flop came down Q-9-9 and from that point on, Marley was an unstoppable force. Heads-up he took full advantage of a 2/1 chiplead against Dave Evans to record his first career win.
The third leg of the tour takes place on 6th March at G Casino in Luton.
