Brits wins first EPT event
Londoner Richard Gryko has taken home this week’s EPT Prague Heads-up title for €41,000.
The Brits were flying the flag high during last week’s EPT Prague and picked up two main event titles, Gryko kicking things off with a first place finish in the heads-up tournament, before Welshman Robert Romanello quickly followed, taking down the Main Event for €640,000.
In total, 201 players stumped up the €3,000 buy-in for the two-day Heads-up event, but it was Gryko who outlasted the field and took the top spot ahead of Russia’s Nikolay Evdakov.
The EPT Prague Heads-up is the latest in a string of decent live performances from Gryko, who since 2009, has finished first in four major UK tournaments and made the final table in eight. His biggest win came in GPT last summer, held in London, where he collected almost £89,000.
