Protégé 2

Daniel Negreanu and FullContactPoker.com launch the second running of their apprentice programme

Daniel Negreanu is the poker superstar that just keeps on giving.

After a mediocre World Series by his standards, Negreanu in conjunction with Full Contact Poker, is gearing up for the second running of their Protégé competition, suitably dubbed Protégé 2.

The lucky winner will get the chance to become a poker star in their own right – bankrolled by FullContactPoker.com and under the watchful eye of Kid Poker himself, Daniel Negreanu.

The winner of Negreanu’s Protégé 2 will receive four $10,000 buy-ins into major poker tournaments, one-on-one instruction from Negreanu, and the chance to experience the Vegas-style VIP life at the most exclusive poker events.

But the battle to victory will be tough, as the ten finalists, and their guests, will be flown to the Bahamas to duke it out at the Atlantis, Paradise Island, on 9 December 2006 at a live event.

It’s one of the best prizes there is in the world of poker. The ethos is set an online amateur up with a professional live playing career, giving them the best start possible, with one of the best players in the world as mentor.

Just ask Daniel’s first protégé, Brian Fidler, who, after only six weeks, won over $200,000 with a 2nd place finish at the WSOP circuit event in Lake Tahoe, his second $10k buy-in.

Since then, Fidler has been in demand appearing on TV shows, news stories and hanging out in the VIP section of the best clubs in Vegas.

"The protégé contest is one of the most exciting things happening in poker today. People are always saying, if they just had the chance to play… well, here’s the chance to go all in like never before," said Daniel Negreanu, poker champion.

"Brian has made me feel like a proud papa these past few months, and I can’t wait to see what the next round of protégé contestants bring. Amateurs and fans have a chance to get involved in the serious poker action and make some real money in the big leagues."
