Premier League and WPT Head to Aspers

March madness to hit Aspers Casino Stratford as PartyPoker.com Premier League and WPT National head for the capital

Kicking things off, it’s the inaugural PartyPoker.com WPT National London, which will take place between 15th – 19th March. Boasting a £1,500 re-entry buy-in for the Main Event, it is sure to attract many of the UK’s top pros.

Equally exciting for the brand new London-based casino overlooking the Olympic Park, is the news that the next instalment of the pro packed Premier League event will also be taking place at the UK’s only Super Casino. Scheduled to begin on March 17th, the event will run for seven days and will feature 16 of the world’s very best players, with invitations from the organisers due to go out shortly. Once confirmed, each competitor must pay-up the $125,000 buy-in to secure his or her seat and then the fun begins.

The format of the event will be similar to previous seasons with the 16 players split up into two groups of eight with each competing in four league matches showcasing the famous point system ($2,000 per point). The top three from each group will automatically go through to the final table, while the fourth and fifth seeds will square off in a series of heads-up matches (best of three) for spots in the eight-handed finale.

Last season’s Premier League V was won by American pro Scott Seiver, whose recent impressive form has highlighted what an exceptional talent he is. Other final table players included the likes of Daniel ‘Jungleman’ Cates, Phil Laak, Tony G, Sam Trickett, Patrik Antonius and Tom Dwan.

Speaking about the upcoming WPT events, John Scanlon of Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford City said: “We are all excited about the PartyPoker.com Premier League and PartyPoker.com WPT National London coming to Aspers Casino and believe we have something to offer poker players at all different levels. We will shortly publish a comprehensive schedule of events running in March very soon.”
