Online mysterio joins Team Pro
The Loch Ness Monster, Big Foot, the Bermuda Triangle – all these mysteries have been overshadowed in recent years by an unknown poker force, Isildur1. And now it seems the infamous nosebleed star has joined Team PokerStars in one of the most bizarre stories of 2010.
Isildur1 sent the railbirds all-a-flutter back in 2009 after playing his/her part in some of poker’s biggest ever online pots – including a $1.3 million monster against Patrik Antonius last November – and rumours about a possible sponsorship deal began to surface in October this year.
And with the star’s identity still a mystery, despite increasing speculation surrounding Swedish pro Viktor Blom, it seems PokerStars have secured a major coup and invited Isildur1 to join the likes of Daniel Negreanu and Liv Boeree on the Team Pro roster.
‘I chose to join PokerStars because it’s the biggest site and it will be an exciting challenge,” Isildur1 said. “It means a great deal to be playing in a team alongside players such as Daniel Negreanu, Dario Minieri and Johnny Lodden.’
‘My goals now are to improve my live game for some upcoming events, continue to focus on no-limit heads-up Hold’em, but also try to develop my Pot Limit Omaha game.’
Isildur1 is scheduled to make his first scheduled appearance on PokerStars’ high-stakes tables later this month, and may reveal his/her identity in January’s PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.
