Hot news from the PokerStars camp, with details of recent tourney results and WSOP qualification

Man vs. the Machines

Amongst the chocolate eggs and free holidays this weekend the lobbies of PokerStars were no quieter, especially for Team PokerStars Pro RaiNKhan who took down $97,856.32 in the Sunday warm-up.

Anyone familiar with that name may wonder how many other events he played at the same time – RaiNKahN once sent a video of himself playing 26 sit and goes simultaneously to PokerStars, proving he was not the machine it was thought.

He wasn’t the only one making the Easter headlines though with well known player ‘pbdrunks’ hauling in a double-whammy of final tables – scoring in both the Sunday Million and Second Chance events.

Step right up!

The World Series qualifiers are in full swing on PokerStars with the number of qualifiers so far pushing the 400 mark and over three full months left before the main event in July.

PokerStars officials reported that over 7,000 individual sit & goes were played in the first weekend of qualifying alone as part of the uber-popular Steps programme and already on their way to the WSOP thanks to PokerStars are Shaundeeb, Josh Prager, ‘Sheets’ and qualifier-extraordinaire ‘THE_D-RY’ Danny Ryan.

Victor Ramdin winning for good causes

Team PokerStars Pro Victor Ramdin’s recently stopped by on Wall Street, teaming up with chat show host Montel Williams to close the NasDaq and promote the Montel William MS Foundation Gala and Pro Celebrity Poker.

The two struck up a friendship at the WSOP main event last year, despite Williams sending Victor to the rail and both played in the event alongside Jamie Gold, Chip Jett, Robert Williamson II, Annie Duke, Barbara Enright and Freddie Deeb. The result was unimportant, even though Victor got some good-natured revenge by winning the final table.

Gone for a tune

One of the talked about players in the Sunday Million last week was ‘RaSZi’, a Dutch player from Rotterdam who is one of a list of players talked about online.

Mainly known to be a cash game player, whilst coming third in the Sunday Million ‘RaSZi’ also finished third in another event at the same time and apparently rewarded himself with a new guitar with a portion of the winnings.
