Beauty, brains, a mean poker game, and now a big sponsorship deal – Erica Schoenberg take a bow
Fresh from her top-drawer 16th place finish at the World Poker Tour World Championships at the Bellagio in Las Vegas last week, up-and-coming pro Erica Schoenberg has been snapped up by MansionPoker.net in a high profile sponsorship coup.
That finish earned Schoenberg $100,000, but the three-year-deal with Mansion means the 28-year-old player from Ohio, USA, will be playing big-time poker for the immediate future.
MansionPoker, a company which had been strongly linked with a sponsorship deal with Manchester United football club, have agreed a ‘multi-layered’ arrangement, which includes a being bankrolled in live tournament poker, as well as duties as a MansionPoker ambassador and spokesperson.
And while she obviously posesses the attributes to be the ‘face’ of the highly ambitious and innovative poker company, Schoenberg’s credentials as a card player are not in doubt.
The former blackjack pro, trained by the infamous Massachusetts Insititute of Technology team, also performed well at the recent Foxwoods Poker Classic, being the top female finisher, outlasting over 350 other players.
Schoenberg’s CV also boasts a stint as a tournament beach volleyball player.
Schoenberg is understandbly delighted with the partnership: “I am so excited to have joined with MansionPoker, and thrilled to have shown a top-twenty result at one of the most respected poker events worldwide. It is truly a premiere event with all the best players in the game, and I am confident that my relationship with MansionPoker will continue to generate some fantastic results.”
David Kinsman, Chief Operating Officer of MansionPoker said: “It is with great excitement that we welcome Erica to the MansionPoker team. MansionPoker is thrilled to endorse a player with Erica’s obvious talents and skills that extend far beyond the poker table, and we look forward to developing a successful partnership with her.”
He continued: “Erica is an intelligent woman with a bright future on the international poker circuit. She is poised to become one of the stand-out players and personalities of the game, and we congratulate Erica on a fantastic 16th place get,” adds Kinsman.
In the future, Schoenberg will be playing online at MansionPoker under her new handle “str8flushin”.
