Player of the Year Race Intensifies

Big names bunch up behind Lamb

Ben Lamb has shot into the lead in the WSOP Player of the Year rankings, ahead of  big name players Phil Helmuth and Bertrand Grospellier.

A first and second place finish for the American pro means that he now tops the Player of the Year leaderboard with nearly 573 points, while Brit Chris Moorman trails him by just over 86 points after four money finishes at this year’s competition.

Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier is a further 7 points behind that in third, and one-time points leader Phil Hellmuth has fallen to fourth. The Poker Brat has failed to reach any final tables in the second half of the Series and is now 114 points off top spot.
