Party Poker sign up infamous Aussie Tony G to their team of pros
Tony G has become the latest signee to PartyPoker.com’s ‘Team Party’. Antanas ‘Tony G’ Guoga is as well known for his fiercesome table talk as he is for his poker, with various YouTube clips of him berating Ralph Perry and Surinder Sunar entering legendary status. As part of the deal, Tony G has also announced his participation in season IV of the PartyPoker.com Premier League, an event he finished as runner-up in 2009. PartyPoker.com parent company PartyGaming has also acquired all assets of Tony G’s online poker business tonygpoker.com.
G’s total tournament winnings currently stand at just under $4m and he has been one of the hottest free agents in poker for a while. In recent months his blog has created plenty of speculation as Tony has openly stated that he was negotiating sponsorship deals with numerous companies besides Party.
Tony said about the finalised deal, ‘I am very happy, this is something I have been trying to achieve for a long time…I want to help them become number one again!’.
The Tony G swoop caps off a busy few weeks for PartyPoker who recently added new High Stakes Poker hostess Kara Scott to their team of pros. Kara and Tony will join long-standing spokesman and pro player Mike Sexton on the team.
