Nosebleed round-up

PokerPlayer brings you all the online action from this week’s high stakes cash games.

Player of the week:

High stakes stalwarts Arbianight and Dan ‘jungleman12’ Cates have been the players to watch this week, recording over $700,000 in profit between them in just under 10,000 hands.

Cates now boasts more than $4,500,000 in online earning this year, but hot on his heels this week was Brian Hastings, who in less than 1,000 hands, recorded a whopping $240,000 profit. That feat was overshadowed somewhat by poker’s biggest star Phil Ivey, who needed just 3 sessions and roughly 60 hands to bank $170,000.

At the other end of the spectrum, Ilari ‘Ziigmund’ Sahamies continues to prop up the high stakes field. Following a disappointing performance last week, which saw the Finnish pro drop just over $200,000, Ziigmund has siphoned off an extra $500,000 from his bankroll. Despite starting the week on a high note, taking $113,00 from jungleman12, his losses for 2010 have now plummeted to more than $1,250,000.

Pot of the week:

To make matters worse, Ziigmund found himself the wrong side of this week’s biggest pot. Facing off against jungleman12 on Full Tilt’s six-max PLO tables, the pair both pushed on 4668 board, creating a $199,000 pot. While Ziigmund was ahead with a set of sixes, a three on the river completed jungleman12’s eight-high straight.
