New EPT dates

Next February's Deauville French Open will now be a five day tournament

The European Poker Tour (EPT) in association with sponsors Pokerstars.com have announced new dates for the French Open in Deauville next year.

Due to the increasing popularity of the Season 3 EPT, the tournament will now run for an extra day, from 20 – 24th February 2007.

The five day French Open is to take place at the Casino de Deauville, with a prize pool expected to exceed 2,500,000 Euro

John Duthie, EPT Chief Executive said, "Deauville has always been among our most popular stops on the EPT, setting a new attendance record of 434 runners in EPT Season 2. In order to accommodate the expected large turnout, the EPT and the Casino de Deauville have worked hard to increase the maximum capacity to a massive 700 runners for the 2007 event."

"We are also pleased to announce that, for the first time, the Casino de Deauville will be spreading cash games, alongside the usual tournament and Sit&Go events."

Players can qualify for the French Open on www.PokerStars.com from 10th December. For more information on the EPT’s visit www.ept.com
