Negreanu And Rousso In Premier League

Matchroom Sport, producers of the PartyPoker.com Premier League, have secured a massive coup for the latest season with the announcement that Daniel Negreanu and Vanessa Rousso will be making their debuts.

Negreanu is arguably the most famous face in poker and currently holds the record for most all-time tournament winnings with $12,432,367. He had this to say, ‘I am a bit of a stats geek and a big fan of unique tournaments with point systems.’ He continued, ‘Playing in this event requires a different type of strategy and I thoroughly enjoy trying to figure out what the best approach is, then implementing it, and hoping it works!’

Vanessa Rousso was one of the hottest players on the tournament circuit in 2009. She won the EPT Grand Final High Roller event, came 2nd in the NBC Heads-Up Championship and even appeared in the pages of the famous Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition. Matchroom Sport’s managing director Eddie Hearn explained why he was so keen to get her on the show, ‘There was only target when selecting a female player for the league…in my opinion, [she’s] the world’s number one female player right now.’

Rousso and Negreanu join the likes of Luke Schwartz, Phil Hellmuth, Yevgeniy Timoshenko and regining champion J.C. Tran in the upcoming show. The action gets started in mid-February and PokerPlayer.co.uk will be out in Vegas covering all the action as it happens.
