UK online MTT legend Chris Moorman wins the Full Tilt Poker Sunday Brawl
Whilst being widely regarded as the best online tournament player in the world, Chris Moorman – known as moorman1 online – was yet to win a Sunday major. This past weekend, however, the UK pro took down a field of 2,700 in the Full Tilt Sunday Brawl, banking $109,620 in the process.
Moorman is the reigning Pocket Fives 2009 Online Player of the Year and has quickly established himself as an online poker legend by regularly going deep in tournament after tournament. With earnings in excess of $2m, the 24-year-old’s achievements haven’t gone unnoticed in the live arena either with Chris signing a contract to be one of the Brunson 10 for DoylesRoom.com in 2009.
‘He reminds me a lot of me, except for the British accent. He’s a poker natural, a legend in the making,’ Doyle Brunson said of the Brit. Chris certainly has some way to go before matching the live achievements of Texas Dolly, but he’s intent on improving that side of his game this forthcoming year.
‘I don’t need to play live, but I want to prove to myself that I can do it, I need to get that first big score.’ Should Moorman exercise that online dominance on the live stage, achieving legend status appears well within his reach.
